In the interests of transparency, K-in-Motion would like to inform you of the affiliate partners that are used in articles on this site and why we recommend them.
JUST SO YOU KNOW, WE WILL NEVER LINK TO SITES THAT WE HAVEN’T COMPREHENSIVELY UTILISED OURSELVES.
In fact, we’ll even give you a bit of insight into how and when we’ve used these sites around the world, so you don’t have to waste your precious time working out the best places to use them.
There’s nothing worse than booking a place that you thought was going to be great, only to find that it’s a steaming pile of shit when you turn up, right?
That’s why we recommend the following sites. K-in-Motion has used them all, in all six inhabited continents, to find budget accommodation.
Checking all of them is always prudent, but from experience, Trip.com works quite well in Asia, and seems to have the most easily contactable customer service of all the sites mentioned here. It’s the definite favourite here at K-in-Motion, because it’s great for other travel services too. Agoda can sometimes be the best site for accommodation in Africa and Asia. Both Booking.com and Agoda work well in Europe and Oceania.
Hostelworld used to be the go-to hostel site in Oceania and Latin America, but in recent years, a lot of hostels have started using Trip.com, Agoda and Booking.com, so properties are often cheaper on those sites..
Checking all four is a great way to ensure that you get the best deal for you!Affiliates for All Your Transport Needs
It has been said that getting there is part of the experience. For some people, the journey is the experience. Whichever way you look at it, transport is important for any traveller.
That’s why we’ve got partners to cover you whether you want to fly, drive, take a train or bus.
As mentioned earlier, Trip.com is a bit of a favourite here, especially for its cheap flights. K in Motion has been using it for over a decade and in all but a few instances, it came up with the cheapest flights. Their customer service is phenomenal too.
They will even call you if there are changes to your scheduled flights and even allow you a free change if you don’t want to accept the airline change.
To be honest, RentalCars has been the go-to car hire site for K-in-Motion for many years.
From the US and Canada, to the UK and Europe, to Australia and New Zealand; RentalCars always seems to find the best car hire prices. Like 8 Euro a day in Malta!
What’s great about the Trainline site, is that it not only helps you search for trains, but also buses.
It’s truly an invaluable site for travel in Europe.
Flixbus seems to have come out of nowhere to take transport in Europe and North America to the next level. Their bright green buses were seen in at least 17 European countires that K-in-Motion passed through in 2022 and 2023.
What makes Flixbus coaches next level is their WiFi, USB ports and powerpoints/electrical outlets. They even work on most routes!
We’ve taken buses with a lot of bus companies in Europe and have found the Flixbus drivers to generally be really cool and sometimes hilarious, even when they don’t speak English!
Another site that’s helpful for finding transport worldwide is Busbud.
They have partnered with several bus companies so that you can find routes that suit your schedule and budget.
